Miniature Summer Clubhouse ~ Circa 1970's
I made this Summer Clubhouse for a contest in one of my online groups, but really, it’s straight out of my Gen X childhood in the 1970s.
Think backyards and half-fallen boards nailed together, the kind of place where kids escaped from parents and invented their own world. Mine has all the stuff you’d expect back then: comic books tossed in the corner, a pack of cigarettes somebody swore they “borrowed” from their folks, and a tether ball waiting outside for endless summer games. It’s messy, it’s nostalgic, and it feels exactly like the way we grew up.
This little build tied for first place in the contest, right alongside Victorian Boy at the Beach. Don’t miss the video at the bottom of the page for a closer look at all the details.
