Elise McKenna Miniature Dressing Room Box
This scene began with Miss Elise McKenna, a custom figure created for me by Louise Goldsborough, owner and designer of Angelique’s Miniatures. I built the setting inside a small suitcase, transforming it into a dressing room where Elise prepares for the stage. Most of the furnishings and accessories inside were handmade.
The character of Elise McKenna — best known from Somewhere in Time — was reportedly inspired by American stage actress Maude Adams, whose career flourished in the late 1800s and early 1900s. To honor that connection, I included reproductions of several Maude Adams playbills in the room, tying this miniature scene back to the actress whose life helped shape the fictional Elise.
