Start with three twist ties, twist
them together on one end and braid
the three ties together into one long piece. Form
into a circle approximately 1" across then set
aside. Click photos to enlarge.
Take your colored construction paper and sponge paint lightly with your acrylic paint. (white paper was used to better show the colors). You don't need to cover the paper completely. It's OK if the colors blend together. After
your paint has dried, punch out your leaves mixing the colors of your paper to
give a nice variety of color. Glue
your first row of leaves flat to the wreath. Build
up your wreath on the base leaf ring by dipping the edges only of leaves
into a pool of glue. Do not glue them flat -- loose edges will look more
realistic. Before
the wreath is completely dry, push the outer edges of leaves down over the
wreath form. This will cover the twist tie base and allow the leaves to stick
up creating a more realistic look. Click photos to enlarge.
