Wilda J. Hull's All Girl Boarding School Residence ~Hull Manor
A Real Good Toys Simplicity dollhouse with additions serves as the setting for Hull Manor, a dormitory residence of the Wilda J. Hull's Academy for Girls.
A Cherished Legacy
This special dollhouse was built by my grandma, Wilda Joan Hull, in the early 1990s. She gave it to me just days after Christmas 2012, along with furniture and a box of miniature treasures. Grandma had just turned 85 that December.
The house arrived in remarkable condition—not a scratch, speck of dust, or missing shingle (though the front porch had been given away years earlier). Every room was decorated in shades of pink, reflecting my grandma's personal style and love of the color.
Honoring Her Memory My grandma passed away on March 1st, 2025. This dollhouse is now a precious connection to her creativity, patience, and the joy she found in miniatures.
While I'm adding new furnishings and accessories to make the space my own, I'm preserving much of Grandma's original décor. The challenge became: how do I honor her pink palette while making it feel authentic? The answer came from my teen years—inspired by the 1980s TV show "The Facts of Life," I created Hull Manor, an all-girls boarding school dormitory where the feminine pink tones feel perfectly at home.
This project blends my grandmother's legacy with nostalgic memories from my own youth, keeping her memory alive one miniature room at a time.
