The Lilliput Blueberry Pie Dollhouse by Real Good Toys
This miniature barber shop, complete with living quarters above, was built and decorated by my mother. It’s loosely based on my dad’s long-running business, The Olde Vault Barber Shop, which has been part of the Redding community for more than 60 years.
The shop earned its name because it was originally built inside the vault of a former local bank. The building itself is notable as well — it’s the second oldest brick building in Redding, California. My mother recreated the charm and history of that shop in miniature, carrying forward the story of both the business and the building.
I’ve also included a photo of the real barber shop for comparison. While there are living quarters above the actual shop, my parents never lived there.
